I have been a congregation leader for several years and in that capacity I’ve chronicled an interesting phenomena (trend) that I would like to share with you that I pray helps you on your
Sustainable Living trek.

Just like every other subject, when it comes to studying the Bible, there are people who are very interested, some who are moderately interested and many who are not interested at all. But among those who are “very interested”; Not always, but often I find that they are more interested in theory than application . For some there seems to be an unquenchable desire to intricately inspect every nuance of Biblical detail yet they are seemingly very hesitant to share the basic good news that the lost can be forgiven and reconciled back to Yahweh God.

I have also found that the same is true in regards to Sustainable Living. People seem far more comfortable with studying the latest and greatest gizmo yet they don’t know how to start a fire in less than ideal circumstances, how to stop bleeding in an open wound or even what to eat to keep themselves healthy on a daily basis.

Thus saith Yahweh, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Jeremiah 6:16

Yahweh God created things to be simple for us. Why do you think we are likened to sheep in the Bible?

Before trying to dissect the most hypothetical situation one can possibly imagine; Settle the issues of Sustainable Living and Emergency Preparedness in your spirit. After that, master the basic skills of Sustainable Living that you may be most helpful in your situation, acquire some good quality, basic equipment to compliment those skills and then expand after that as time and money allows.

Do this and you will find that Sustainable Living is far less stressful, much more fun and much more effective.

I’ll see you out in the field,
