Evangelism and Discipleship

“Every Christian is either a missionary or an impostor.”
Charles Spurgeon

And Yeshua came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.   Matthew 28:18-20

How long have you been a believer (entered into a covenant with Yahweh as your God thereby fully accepted that Yeshua is the Messiah and that He substituted Himself as a sacrifice for your sins thus experiencing the death that was originally intended for you), one day, two days, more?

However long has it been you have experienced more, and know more, than someone else.  Are you bashful about telling everyone you know about other wonderful, life changing events that have occurred in your life?  Of course not, so why be bashful about this awakening and gift that is even way more wonderful, way more life changing, and way more exciting then absolutely anything else you have ever experienced in your whole life?  In your shyness you could be helping to condemn someone else to the life of drudgery and eternal damnation that you were once doomed to; perhaps some close family members or friends.

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be
watered also himself.

Proverbs 11:25

Do yourself and others an eternal favor; share with them what the Messiah has done for us and how they can receive His forgiveness, joy and life-changing eternal blessings.

Besides, this is what the Bible tells us to do.

"You have one business on earth-to save souls"
John Wesley

It is important to realize that we should share our faith with others whenever we can. The Bible says that there are only two times we should do this -- "in season and out of season" (2 Timothy 4:2). The Apostle Paul pleaded for prayer for his own personal witness. He said, ". . . that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak," (Ephesians 6:19-20).

"When Christians do not unite and become part of the solution,
by default they are part of the problem"
Parson Rayphe

My Friend
I stand in judgement now,
and feel that you're to blame somehow.

On earth I walked with you by day,
and never did you show the way.

You knew the Savior in Truth and Glory,
But never did you tell His story.

My knowledge then was very dim,
you could have lead me safe to Him.

Though we lived together there on earth,
you never told me of the second birth.

And now I stand before eternal hell,
because of God's Great Glory you didn't tell.

"You shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in
Samaria, nd unto the uttermost part of the earth."

Acts 1:8

Remember that you have the sobering responsibility of speaking to other peoples' loved ones. Many times when you open your mouth for the Gospel, you may be the answer to the earnest prayer of another believer; a mom, a dad, brother, sister, or maybe a caring friend. Perhaps they have cried out to Yahweh God that He would use a faithful witness to speak to the once they care about.  You could be the answer to those prayers. Will you keep the covenant you have made with Yahweh God and accept the call? You are that true and faithful witness that God wants to use.

Never lose sight of the world and all its pains. Keep the fate of the ungodly before your eyes. Too many "believers" (are they really "believers"?) in America  have  settled down on a padded pew and become introverted. Their world becomes a monastery without walls. Their friends are confined solely to those within the church building walls. Yeshua was known as the "friend of sinners" so follow His example and take the time to deliberately befriend others for the sake of their salvation.

Do you think your not affective in evangelism?  Think again.  Click on the play button to the right to hear a fascinating story about someone who didn't think they were affective either.  It is a short recording -- Only  1,106 people will die while you are listening to it. (approximately).

If you truly love your neighbor as yourself  evangelism and discipleship will be a top priority in your life.  Remember that each and every person who dies in their sins has an appointment with the Judge of the Universe. Hell opens wide its terrible jaws. There is no more sobering task than to be entrusted with the Gospel of Salvation -- working with Yahweh God for the eternal well-being of dying humanity.

Have  you no wish for others to be saved?
Then you are not saved yourself.
Be Sure of that.
Charles Spurgeon

It is important to realize also that in His instructions (Matthew 28:18-20) Yeshua didn't say to "go and tell people they need to say a prayer".  Rather His instructions were to "Go and make disciples".  The definition of a disciple is "taught one".  What He said was to go and teach others all He had taught them; and He had taught them quite a lot.  So, as you are contacting others and explaining this wonderful new life you have found remember that this is only the beginning and there is much more to come.

The great Evangelist of The Great Awakening George Whitefield said "Father Abraham, whom have you in heaven? Any Episcopalians? No! Any Presbyterians? No! Any Independents or Methodists? No, No No! Whom have you there? We don't know those names here. All who are here are Christians...Oh, is this the case? Then God help us to forget your party names and to become Christians in deed and truth."

But sanctify Yahweh God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1 Peter 3:15

The Scriptures are clear that we all are to be ready to share the hope that is within us at all times.  And along with fulfilling that call individually; occasionally various Frontier Fellowships will unite for a specific purpose in sharing the Good News.  When this happens we work through our  "Mountain Man Missions" ministry for various specific projects.
