Liberty


Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?  Forbid it, Almighty God!  I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

As attorney Patrick Henry road into the town square he came across a most disturbing and unforgeable scene. A man was being brutally scourged.


The man was scourged mercilessly with whips laced with metal. When they stopped beating him, Patrick Henry could plainly see the bones of his rib cage. He turned to ask someone in the crowd, "What has the man done to deserve such a beating as this?" The reply was that the man being scourged was a minister. He was one of twelve preachers who all met a similar fate because they refused to take the king's license to preach the king's “gospel”.


This was the incident that sparked Patrick Henry to write the famous words above, which later became the rallying cry of the American War of Independence.



Most have heard of the Liberty Bell but few know that there is an inscription printed on it. What is printed on the Liberty Bell?



"Proclaim liberty throughout all the Land unto all the inhabitants thereof."
Leviticus 25:10




In Acts 2:31 Luke writes regarding David:

He (David) seeing this before (prophetically)spoke of the resurrection of Christ, the Messiah, that his soul was not left in hell (the unseen world), neither his flesh did see corruption. KJV


This verse and others tell us that after being crucified Jesus (Yeshua), went to an unseen world and proclaimed victory over both the seen and unseen worlds. Jesus, Yeshua, the Messiah set ALL captives free and gave Liberty to all who accept it!!

 

Now Yahweh is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of Yahweh is, there is liberty.
2 Cor 3:17 KJV


There are many parallels between the seen and unseen worlds. However the underlying goal of all evil is to take away your liberty and enslave you again either spiritually, physically or both. Evil wants to take you captive. Evil wants to control and force or fool you into surrendering your spiritual and physical liberties.


The bad news is that many willingly surrender themselves unnecessarily and allow themselves to become enslaved (spiritually and or physically) by the enemy.


The good news is that Yeshua, Jesus, is King!! As He sits on His thrown He allows you and I to join Him as a peculiar treasure unto Him!!


 

The Spirit of Yahweh God is upon me; because Yahweh hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Isa 61:1 KJV


Like an invasive weed; evil by nature is destructive and refuses to stay away. In both the spiritual and physical realms if left unattended evil will fulfill its nature. Evil will seek out and destroy all it comes into contact with.


For most of us fighting is not something we prefer to do. Yet in Ephesians Chapter 6 Apostle Paul tells us to do just that. He tells us to put on armor and fight evil.

So stand strong and courageous today Brothers and Sisters!! Put on that armor and know that Yahweh God is still on the thrown, victory is ours and as we stand together in righteousness, He will not forsake us!!
