The constant hype of the American culture is draining. It seems there always has to be more, it has to be louder, bigger, better, ad nauseam.

But Sustainable Living and emergency prepardeness doesn’t have to be that way. If you’re like many people when you hear words like “Sustainable Living” you equate them with more dollar signs. But Sustainable Living needn’t be expensive either.

Thus saith Yahweh, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
Jeremiah 6:16

The reason we think Sustainable Living is more expensive is simply because we have been programmed to think that way. Like many things in our culture today; actually the truth is it is just the opposite of what we have been lead to believe. Because Sustainable Living puts us in line with God’s plan for our life; it is actually quite settling, comforting, encouraging and relaxing.

So take comfort today. Don’t “buy into” all the hype. You don’t need the latest and greatest. As a matter of fact a significant part of Sustainable Living is make do, reuse, recycle, repurpose or do without.

Certainly that’s not always possible and sometimes you just need good quality tools and equipment that shouldn’t be scrimped on. But don’t let money stop you. A penny saved is a penny earned. Start today and do what you can. You will probably find that the Sustainable Living lifestyle is actually cheaper in many ways. That’s the Sustainable Living Way. Start today.
