Permaculture; Have
you ever heard of that word? Permaculture; permanent – agriculture / perma-culture. The word was coined back in the 1960′s
by a wise man named Bill Mollison and by the 1970′s the concept had taken root.
Let
me say emphatically: Please do not take anything I say in this article as a criticism of Bill Mollison. He has
done a tremendous amount of good in his life.
But the truth is, as much as he has done for
people as well as the earth; what he really did (probably with out knowing it) is encouraged people to return to a
more Biblical lifestyle. That’s right; the Bible encourages permaculture.
By
definition, practice and design permaculture is about the relationships we create between people, animals, plants, buildings
and their supporting infrastructures. It is a way of life. But the interesting thing is; even though the word
“permaculture” was introduced back in the 60′s, the concept has really existed since the first man;
Adam.
And Yahweh God took the man, and put him
into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
Gen 2:15
It’s sad that people don’t
incorporate the designer of the garden into the implementation of it’s processes. Life would be so much easier
and better.
